Capture the angles that make you shine
Hi! I'm Mike Bechner, and I've had a camera in my hands since about 1985. Traveling the country extensively with my family growing up helped instill a healthy respect for nature in me, which was often the subject of my little film camera, and I work it into my photography whenever possible today. In 2007 I got my first digital SLR...and WOW! I saw my photography capabilities explode! I decided then and there that I was going to pursue photography as a career, even though I had recently received my Masters in Biotechonology from the UW-Madison Medical School.
Initially I started out shooting gymnastics meets, and then moved into doing a lot of model portfolio building for a couple of years to build up my portrait and human subject skills. I also loved working with models because it gave me a chance to be creative, and to create works that were different, edgy, and fun. I also started shooting weddings in 2008 as a second shooter, and loved being able to capture the joy, tears, and essence of one of the most important days in peoples' lives. It was FUN! I think that's the most important aspect of photography for me. It's what drives me. It's something I'm always thinking about. It's my PASSION! Being able to pursue my passion as a career is a gift, and being able to give that gift to all my clients gives me such satisfaction that I've never known before in a job. I am self-taught as a photographer, although I've trained with some amazing photographers.
I love what I do. If you're looking for a photographer that gets excited about what he's doing, who puts everything into every photo session, who makes sure that all of your needs and expectations are met to the best of his ability, then we should talk! I'm very easy to talk to and have a very friendly and relaxed personality. I will always be honest and up front with you about my capabilities to meet your needs, and if I don't think that I'll be the best fit for you, I will refer you to a photographer who will! My hobbies also include nature and macro photography, of which you'll see many examples in my fine art gallery! I'm also fully insured, which is something you should make sure your photographer is no matter what you hire them for. Well...go and take a look at my galleries. Enjoy some of my photography. I love creating it. I hope I can create some joy with you viewing it now. Thank you for stopping by!
